Hey everyone, I am planning on starting to reload - I have pretty much all tools and dies in a cart... However I am not having any luck with a shell plate for 7.62x54R, if anyone could tell me that would be awesome

If you're meaning shell holders;
Lyman's....#17
Hornady's..#23
RCBS........#13
Redding's..#15
Lee's........#16

The shell plate is 16L which is a special order from Lee. A simple google search or a call to Lee would have given you the answer.

Now a little advice. If you have never reloaded before, choosing a Loadmaster is not a good idea. The Loadmaster usually requires tinkering to work correctly. Also it is not the best press for rifle rounds.

A better choice may be a single stage press or a turret such as the Lee Classic turret. Do not get the cheaper Lee turret as it is too short to load 7.62 x 54R.

If you're ordering the Lee's Pacesetter Die set, and are reloading with .311-.312" bullets. Did you order one of these?

Side note: A mistake I made the 1st time I reloaded 7.62x54R is, that I got lube on the shoulders. That caused a hydraulic effect that either rippled the shoulder, or crushed the shoulder. On retraction, neck separation. The more acute angle of this casing is less forgiving that most other rifle casings, I suppose. :)

Hmmm I have the old 3 hole Deluxe turret and 7mm Rem mag fits.
I would still suggest the Classic, but wanted to mention that the "Deluxe" should be able to handle 7*54R
