Reloading bench height and depth....

Ergonomically speaking.... Your hands will fall below the top of the bench almost constantly. So my bench was set up to where my wrist is, with my press handle in the extreme down position which made my bench top 40 inches tall x32 deep x 120 long

My bench is an old computer desk that I reinforced. The height is 30", I have a nice cushy chair and everything in in arms reach.

I welded an old iron tractor seat to a car rim/ steel pipe base... Very comfy and matched my piece of truck bumper bench on a 20" truck wheel/8" well casing pedestal. I like the truck bumper pedestal... I have two presses permanently mounted and have others that I can insert into the receiver hitch with 2" tubing.

I alternate between sitting and standing at my bench, and use an adjustable height stool as well. Drafting stools with wheels are nearly perfect, though right now I use one my wife found at Sears that doesn't have wheels.

I built my original bench to a surface height of 42". This is taller than many, but allows for easy transitions from sitting to standing and back without bending, etc. I placed it a hair lower than my elbows while standing. It is 36" deep and 96" long. Frame is 2x4s, top is 1/2 OSB. Terrible idea to use OSB, don't do it!

After moving to my new house, I decided to expand my bench into an L shape. I built a second bench that almost mirrors the first, except I used 3/4" particle board as a work surface and painted it (much better than OSB!). I then screwed the two benches together so I could eliminate the front leg in the corner.

The picture was before I mounted my press and vice, and before adding some shelves. Very sturdy, plenty of work area. I also mounted a spare TV and connected a computer to it, so I can research loads/gun/whatever without going searching for the laptop that my wife is probably already using =p. Also good for Netflix while sorting brass.

Mine is 41 inches high by 24 deep and 48 wide, this allows me to either stand or sit on a bar stool. When standing the very bottom of the stroke on both my single stage and my turret press is reached without having to bend over. Since it is 24 deep I have cabinets 12 inches deep sitting at the back of the bench, use them for turret storage for all the different calibers, I also store opened boxes of primer, in one cabinet and powders in the other along with bullet storage, tools, hand primers, shell holders etc. I will be moving it into another room in the near future to allow me more space for book shelves for my reloading data reference books and manuals. I like to have everything right at hand when I need it, this set up works excellent for me.

I use several places I load from. At one spot I stand and the press is chest hi. Do 30 or so rounds there. The other spot I use an adjustable chair. The loading table here is 34 inches high. I adjust the chair up or down if I fell the need to.
