Hi All-

I bought a Craftsman stool about a year ago for $120.00, and it already drops lower when I sit on it, and rocks. Can anyone recommend one that is made better? Pro quality?

Requirements:
- Height adjustable
- Swivel
- Backrest

Thanks!

Check a medical supply store for an optometrist's or pharmacist's stool. Make sure they understand your height requirements and be ready for a sticker shock.

I use an old executive desk for my reloading bench. I found that I am more comfortable standing when working the press. Then I use an office chair when doing case prep work, throwing charges for the single stage, etc. I tried sitting on a bar stool at the press, also tried sitting low in a chair at the press. Both ways I felt unstable when pulling the lever. I feel like I get better balance and leverage standing and using my whole body when pulling, pushing, looking, reaching, etc.

I also stand when reloading. I find it a way to get a bit of extra exercise when I’m spending an afternoon in the garage loading ammo. :)

For regular sitting sessions doing other things I just use Winchester barstools I won in shooting tournament raffles years ago.

Those pharmacy stools are surely sturdy and will suit your needs, hopefully you can find something similar for your bench.

Stay safe.

I'm using a Lab Grade stool. The one I have sold for over $200 new in 1990. Bought it at a auction for $30, best money I ever spent. This one was designed for rather large persons, 6'+ tall, rated at 350#. It adj low enough for me to use when I want to sit at a desk, or very tall to sit at my standing height. I also use a secretary chair which is also adjustable.

I bought one with a back at Home Depot for $85.55. It was too tall for my loading bench so I shortened the legs by 3". I love it and it is for up to 275 lbs. Hyd adjustable height and adjustable back. Great for a loading stool.
