Make sure your new loads chamber before loading a whole bunch!
I worked up a bunch of different loads for my recently inherited 7mm Remington Mag. I used the discontinued Speer Mag Tip 160 gr. bullet. I got to the range today and found that I could not close the bolt on them. Even though I loaded to the cannelure, the Mag Tips were WAY too long for my Remington 700 throat. Not sure if I'm going to pull the bullets and get rid of the whole box of bullets, or seat them deeper, beyond the cannelure, and shoot them up.
The good news is that I found a couple good shooting loads for my .223 and for my .45-70.
Lesson learned!
