Pretty close to what I'm using. I use mixed brass with WW large pistol primers, 4.8 grains of 700-X (I use it for 12 ga too) and a 230 grain cast bullet. This pretty much duplicates standard "ball" ammo out of a 5" 1911, giving around 835 ft/sec.Here is what I'm going to load come HE!! or high water.
.45 ACP
1. Brass - (Whatever I pick up, S&B, Win, FED, Speer etc..)
2. Primer - (Remington 2 1/2)
3. Powder - 700X (I use it for 12 ga too)
4. Bullets - Ranier 230gr Total Copper Jacketed *Edited*
I've found many Remington cases are a couple of thousandths of an inch thinner at the case mouth than anyone else's, so I discard them. (Can't size them down enough to grip the bullets properly - and I've tried RCBS steel, RCBS carbide, and Dillon carbide dies.)
