Reloading Room design

It's better to be low on BTU to increase cycle time to dehumidify.

Good advice there.

For my shack, I got the smallest window AC unit that had an automatic thermostat and "Eco" mode. I leave it set on Eco mode with the fan at the slowest speed, and it does a great job keeping the temp AND humidity down. I raise the thermostat a few degrees when I am not going to be using the shack, and then turn it down a few degrees when I am there.

If you are building this room I add security. Can you hide a wall safe? Steel door on a three bolt system. Home security lines to turn this into a safe room. If you can anchor to concrete under your press you will eliminate vibration. Built in laddering for second floor storage. Floor safe? For some jobs, like lube-r-sizing a couple of thousand rounds, I'll put an old movie in and listen to it. So if you got cable tv, run a line. Or at least some audio system. I built a 12v system to run an old car stereo and put up some small speakers. It takes very little room. I do think the room may be a bit small for a keg-a-rator and BBQ. Ammo gets heavy quick and if your stepping up your game to a progressive you might be surprised at how fast ammo storage space gets taken up. I keep bullets and powder in a separate locked steel locker. A special place for a small vacuum. Door swing in takes interior space but tends to be preferential to door swings out. Type of wall and how long it takes to breach it. Door frame ya just can not kick in. Materials that don't burn well. Don't use treated wood in an enclosed space. Last, a no smoking sign.

For security, I'll have a POE HD camera and a door opening sensor. Planning to use a Gladiator 30" steel cabinet to store powder and primers - it locks.

Building the false floor next weekend. It'll be framed similar to a wall, but laying down, insulated with R13, and covered with 3/4" plywood. Trying to decide on my bench. Intially planned to build one, but then I've been using a Gladiator 8' bench for 5 years with no issues, other than it being a couple of inches short. No way to anchor it to the floor, but it also doesn't move anyway.
