Hi, I am interested in reloading for 9x18 Makarov and 7.62x54r. For the Makarov, does anyone know who sells brass and bullets for that caliber? For the 7.62x54r, where can I find the correct bullets? Thanks.

9mm Mak brass can be had from StarLine brass. Its not real cheap but they make it. I understand you can trim 9mm Luger down to the correct length and load it up for use in a Makarov.

For the Makarov.
If by chance you can not fond reloadable cases, You Can " MAKE " cases out of 9x19 cases.
But you should not have a issue finding stuff for either caliber, ( not counting the current ammo and reloading supply shortage, or should I say Hoarding.)

Hornady, Buffalo Bore, Winchester, Fiocchi, S&B, and PRVI all produce 9mm Mak ammo. You could buy up some of that and reload the brass. Hornady makes XTP bullets and Speer makes TMJ bullets for it. There's also a few different cast bullet companies that make suitable bullets if you don't mind lead.

For 7.62x54R, PRVI, S&B, Winchester, and Wolf all make brass cased loaded ammo. PRVI brass is very good in the few calibers I have, better yet, its the cheapest too. Hornady and Sierra both make .311 jacketed bullets but some people report having bores bigger than that so those may not do you any good. Hornady had paused the production of their .311 bullets but they're supposed to be resuming that here shortly.

One Mosin I had with a .316 bore still shot pretty good with the .312 bullets, but it shot way better when I cast 200 gr Lyman ( .314-299 mold number )
and just didnt size them and used IMR-4198 powder

Purchasing brass and bullets..... Midway, Natchez, gunbroker, gun shows, Cabelas, online classifieds ,Grafs, Starline, i'm sure there is more but to early in the AM for me to think to give ideas where to look for components, but my best luck has been Midway and Natchez

I just buy PRIVI ammo, empty the case at the range and then reload. I have a couple hundred cases and still a half dozen boxes of ammo I got during the depths of the panic at good price.

I just started reloading 9 x 18 Makarov, using 9 x 19 Lugar brass. Using 4.3 gr universal, WSP, 93 gr Lead round nose from Midway. Shoots 850-950fps and 2 inch groups at 15 yards. First reloads have an hourglass shape but they straighten out well with firing. Be sure to mark them well to keep from mixing them with Lugar brass.

For the 7.62 x 54r the best bullet I have found is the Sierra Match King for the .303. It's also the longest bullet I have found. I haven't been able to find bullets that are the same length as Russian match ammo. The Mosin likes longer bullets.

Trim 9.19 cases to 9x18

I cast a 96gr hard cast lead .364" pan lube with darr and unsized.

Shoots well with 2.8gr Bullseye from my P64.

Trying to cut on recoil though... lightening the load.
