Does anyone know a retailer who sells powder or primers in this area. None of the local sporting good stores carry reloading supllies. TIA

The only two that I know of and where I bought components when I lived there were:

American Sportsman, Washington Rd. (Martinez, if you want to be more specific). Best prices, and if you deal with Paul Gray, or "Scotty", will usually give you a little better price if you buy two pounds of powder and primers by the Thousand.

The Gun Cabinet; Wrightsboro Rd.; Usually not a much selection, and FULL RETAIL prices. But,if he's got it, may be better than ordering mail-order and paying hazmat on a small order.

Forget Sportsman Link (Bobby Jones Pkwy). They don't have reloading components and are impossible to deal with on their firearms.

Next closest is Franklins in Bogart, Ga. which is west side of Athens, GA. But, Franklin's has a large selection, much of powder inventory is in warehouse section and not on display.

I usually get with a couple of friends and "piggy back" a larger order from either Widener's or MidSouth Shooters Supply and get 5,000+ primers and 12+lbs of powder to reduce shipping/hazmat fee impact.

Thanks Goose, I had forgotten about the American Sportsman store on Wash Road, I'll check them out this week. Unfortunately the Gun Cabinet closed their doors, it was one of the few old school gun shops left and I guess they just weren’t making any profit.
