What are your favorite loads for this caliber and why. Please be as specific as possible with reguards to powder, charge weight, primer, bullet wieght, manufacurer and style as well as brass used. I would also like to know what gun or guns you use this in. Please give me an idea of the accuracy you achieve. I know all the caveats about how this load may or may not work in your gun etc as well as the ones about using a reloading manual. Rest assured that I have been reloading SAFELY for 20 years. If you have problem with posting your loads here then don't bother. There always seems to be one guy who say something on the order of "I have a great load for MY gun but it probably won't work in yours therefore I am not going to divuldge my secrets." I am especialy interested in accurate loads using ball type powders. I havea few goodloads loads using extruded powders but they don'tmeter well and I endup using a trickler, always have, and I would like something that meters better.

46.0 grains of IMR 4350, Sierra 1640 bullet (117 grain), win lrp, any brass.

In my 25/06 Encore rifle, I use Berger 115 gr. VLDs, RL-22, Remington cases and Federal 210M primers with excellent results. My best 3 shot group with this load measured about 0.15 in. center to center. Three shot groups in the 0.25 inch range are common and anything over 0.5 in. is definitely my fault.

i load for a tang safety ruger, and a couple remington 700's. they do well w/ rl-25 and 120 sierras, or rl-22 and 100 grain hornadys.

i've been doing quite a bit of work w/ ramshot powders recently in a couple chamberings, and think ramshot hunter and ramshot magnum would be perfect candidates for what you want. they are ball powders, and i have been getting good results in the chamberings i've tried them in so far - which has not included the 25-06 yet, but will include the 25-06 soon enough.

I have a 25-06 made on a M98 Mauser with a 26" Shilen barrel. It really likes a moderate load of IMR 4350 and 100 gr Nosler BT's. Kills deer real dead real quick too!

Yesterday I was out with my 25-06 sendero and it liked the following load distinctly better than anything else.

100 grn seirra spire bt, wlrm primers, 48.0 grns of imr 4350, 3.130 col winchester brass trimmed to 2.486. Noticeably better accuracy then the rest.

90 grn seirra bthp with wlrm primers, 52.0 grns of imr-4350 to 3.020 was second best.

What I did find is that retumbo did not do well with either 117 grn spitzers or 100 grn spitzers. Odd, but then again maybe it is just not going to work with my rifle.

I have not shot pictures yet, but both loads will do 1 to 1.5" 50 shot groups at 100 yrds. Pictures to follow in a few days.

retumbo is an extremely slow powder. while rl-25 is very slow, many people think it borders on too slow for the 25-06, and retumbo is quite a bit slower still.
