I picked up a sporterized 1889 in beautiful condition last week and want to make some ammo for it.
I have some boxer-primed 7.5x55 brass into which I seated a 150gr .308 bullet to test the chamberability (if that's even a word) and it went in fine with about 0.010 to the lands.
I've read that this action is too weak for the GP11 ammo, but that many were rechambered for .30-30.
What's the general consensus on loading this using .30-30 data and letting her rip?
Safe?
