Ive recently accuired a 11-87 shotty for a steal of a price that was abused by its previous owner. the butstock is cracked, and the action tube was bent ever so slightly. Ive since straightened it out, and by eye and a straight-edge, it appears to be right, but the plunger only goes in about an inch before it gets caught up.

I see replacements being sold on the Brownells and MidwayUSA sites that are threaded on eather end, but mine does not appear to be a separate part from the reciever.

What whould I do? Thanks.

I worked in the Remington Arms in Ilion,NY, in the late 60's to early 70's, and the 1100 series and 11-87 action tubes and mag tubes were induction brazed into the receiver.

If the tube has been bent and straightened there is possibly a kink, dent, dimple, or some type of constriction in the tube. If the tube is straight run a rod that is a tight fit up the tube. If you meet resistance then you know. Pull the rod back out, lube it up very well and force it through the constriction. With luck you will iron it out and the spring/plunger will be free in the tube. If it works you saved yourself a trip back to the factory. If not you have only lost a little of your time.
