Not designed for .223 pressure levels.

They are intended for lower pressure, small capacity calibers like the .22 Hornet / .218 Bee.

Cup thickness:
6 1/2 is .020".
7 1/2 is .025".

I would not recommend using them in an AR at all.

i see. my neighbor gave them too me. I will just have to wait. I have a crap load of PMC brass that still needs the primer pockets reamed out. that should keep me busy.
till i find some 7 1/2 primers. Thanks RC

I have a bunch of 6 1/2's and I am going to load them in .357 carbine loads just to use them up. I still can't believe that Rem would make a primer that is for a particular round or 2. I'm surprised someone hasn't sued. The boxes I have do not have any warning not to use in a .223. If I hadn't seen in on here I would have used them. Well I actually have loaded a few hundred before I saw this. Mac
