Just joined the forum and curious. Just purchased a NIB 1100 Comp. master for $719.00 Is this a reasonable price. This is my first shotgun. I have been a handgun enthusiast for years and thought I would expand my interest.

Another question. I shoot left handed. Is this going to be a problem. Not sure if Rem. makes a left handed version.

thx, dctfn

Great gun. Good price. I have an 1100 configured kinda sorta like a CM, 21" barrel (fixed choked), +3 extension, extended bolt-handle but with wood instead of synthetic.
Very cool guns!
Remington did/does make an 1100 lefty but I've no idea if they offered the CM in that flavor.
Have fun with that 1100. They are excellent guns.

The price is reasonable. I have a CM and like it a lot. You can get an 1100 for less and add the extras yourself and probably save a few dollars; I went for the package.

Like all 1100s, you need to use at least mid-range ammo in power. Very light loads will not cycle it. The lightest ammo that is reliable for me is the Remington 1 1/8, 7 1/2s, about 1145 fps, STS light Target.

Welcome to the world of shotguns, they are just as addicting as pistols. I'm the proud owner of two Rem 1100. The first one was a Competition Master. I paid about what you did and I did a lot of shopping. It is everything that the advertised to be. The second 1100 was bought used. I added an EZ-loader, Speedfeed Stock, Hi-viz follower, 7-shot mag extension, 6-shot side saddle, and tactical charging handle. I will be adding XS Express rifle sights at a later date. When all is said and done I'll have sent about $500 on this shotgun. The second 1100 has taken a lot of TLC and tried my paitence a couple of times. For an out-of-the-box ready to go 3-gun shotgun you can't beat the CM, but if you have time on your hands to realy search out good deals on used 1100s you can get a lot for your money.
I haven't seen any lefty CMs around here.
