pro mag, ramline or any other after mkt mfg. make these that are
worth a darn?

anyone ever cut down a 22" bbl to 18 or 20"?
I know about the velocity loss, but how much would the
accurcy suffer? (any worse than my spellin)

it's a hunting gun, so 3-4" at 100-200 yards is acceptable. thanks

A short barrel is no less accurate than a long barrel. A good cut/crown should maintain your accuracy, or may even improve it. I have never used the 760 ten rounders but have used the 740's. They were fine for range use, but would not trust them bumping around in the field.

triple K

Triple K makes an all-steel magazine for the 7400-7600 and previous models (they are all the same) in both .308 and 30-06 length. I have used both for a long time with no issues in both autos and pumps. The only problem is right now they're backed up on orders a little bit so it's about a 4 week flash-to-bang.

it can take the remington 7400 and 750 mags and there are two lengths, long and short action. you need the short.

'Yote: thanks for the tip on TripleK, just picked a couple up (had had very little luck finding ANY before). The two long-case ones I found years back were not machined well at all and took a tremendous amount of Dremelizing...

These are the Ram-Line Cycolac 10-rnd .243 mags (.308 -- same thing) .
They are fine.

The carbine-versions of those guns are more accurate. The barrel's are free floating and the shorter ones are stiffer.
