Hi guys!
New problems, or thoughts. I bought myself a DAVES METAL WORKS EASYLOADER https://www.brownells.se/epages/Sverige.sf/sv_SE/?ObjectID=71386 and now I've been looking at installing it. But, I'm not really happy about how it will appear when done. The "fork" will protrude and may be cought in something. When looking at how things seems to work I got a "bright idea" that I thought someone could talk me out of before I do somthing stupid.
When pushing the release button to be able to push shells in to the magazine tube, the carrier latch is moved out of the way so the carrier is allowed to travel up.
Now I figure if I just cut of the end that goes in to the hole (encircled below) in the carrier latch...
...there will be no need to press the release button! Thus I can just press on the carrier when loading the gun. Is this a good idea, why not?
I suppose that if it was a really good idea the guys at Remington would have figured it out and done so from factory. However, I don't understand what would be the big problem.
Good: Easy to load, no need to think about the release in order to load.
Bad: May accidentally release the bolt if in open position by touching the carrier.
Thoughts on this?
