My Fiancee has a 1187 that she uses to hunt with, shoot skeet with, etc etc. Her dad bought it several years ago, and it has been shot quite a bit.

This is how it was explained to me by him, I havent got to try it, nor do I want to just yet.

Anyway, with low power shells, it does fine. But if you put turkey loads in it now, it pushes the bolt back so hard it hits the back of the reciever causing the extractor pin to move back, letting the extractor come out, and jams the gun. Just wondering if anyone had any insight on what to do for it. Does it need a new spring maybe ? Gas system out of whack ?

Thanks in advance

Know of where I can get a parts diagram ? I am a Mossberg man myself, so this is strange land to me.

Thanks. Everything looks to be in correctly. From what I can tell anyway.

I dont see anything between the o-ring and the piston by the way.

Is the buffer spring adjustable ? Looks like it to me, but like I said, I dont know about these things.

I was reading somewhere that Remington made some 11-87's for skeet or trap, that were not made to shoot magnum loads. This one says Special purpose on the side of it, and has a 26" barrel. The skeet and trap guns had a different gas system, but Im not sure how to tell.

I have new springs for the gun now. But I cant seem to get into the action spring. Any help to lend ?
