Anybody know anything about Remington offering their 3200 with a 20 gauge barrel?

I was offered a 12 gauage 3200 with an extra 20 gauge that has the same serial number as the 12.

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich

I think Remington had 4 bbl skeet sets for the 3200, and it could be that because of the matching serial numbers that your 3200 came from one.

What are the bbl length's and chokes?

I measured the barrels at 27 1/2" so I surpose that makes them 28's. The 20 ga. is choked skeet/skeet, the 12 ga is full/mod I believe. The seller said he bought the gun with the 12 ga and later found out that Remington had some 20 gauges so he sent the gun to them and they fiited the 20 ga. to the gun and used the same serial number.

I have been looking for 20 ga. bird gun and I have always liked the Remington 32 and 3200 so this set got my interest. I was courious if anyone else has heard of anything similiar.

That's a very interesting shotgun! Sounds like it came from their Custom Shop. I used to shoot skeet with bout a dozen guys who all used the 3200's and all of them had their 12 ga.'s tubed. I have never saw small guage barrels for the 3200. If the price is anywhere close to right I would purchase it. You may find it great for skeet but most 3200's are a bit heavy for all day carry bird hunting. I would think a 3200 20 ga. would be just about the same weight as a 12 ga. since they are on the same frame. Post some picts. if you purchase and good luck!
