So, I'm selling one of my guns to finance the purchase of one of these. Two good adult size .22s catch my eye...the Rem. 572 and the Marlin 39A.
Remington 572 has caught my eye as what looks to be a high quality pump action .22...looks fun.
Does it have twin action bars? I'm assuming controls are similar to my 870 (my fav. shotgun). How hard is it to field strip? What about plastic parts and such?
I know the Marlin 39A is an excellent gun, and a good match for my 336. I could buy one of these with no worries, but I am seriously considering the Remington 572 as an interesting alternative to get first...It is easy to clean and very well built.
Oh, and yes, I have considered a Browning BL-22 as an alternative to the Marlin 39A. A good gun, and I especially like the trigger that travels with the lever, but the small size and I've read somewhat complicated takedown kind of make me shy away.
