I bought a new Remington 700 .270 WIN SPS yesterday and got it home and noticed it had a 2" longer barrel than my Remington 700 .270 WIN ADL that I bought about 10 years ago. Is there a advantage/disadvantage to having the longer barrel versus the shorter barrel. I only bought the new one because my old one needs trigger work and deer season is right around the corner.

Longer barrel will give a little more velocity. Not much, but that is the only advantage that I can think of. Different shooters have different preferences.

24" versus 22" old one I had. Will it affect accuracy
There are a lot of things that affect accuracy. Since this is a completely different gun, barrel length is the only obvious difference, but wouldn't necessarily be the cause if accuracy isn't as good as your previous rifle.

if your happy with your old one you could pull the trigger group from your new one and stick it on there for deer season.
I have an SPS in 7mag and i purchased that particular gun because it did come with a 2" longer barrel then standard. I like longe tubes, you can usually get an extra 80-100fps out of a longer tube with faster rounds. I also have found that longer barrel guns hold a little steadier from field position for me, but thats me.
