Just a question on my Remington 700 BDL in stainless/synthetic.

Has anyone got any advice on accurizing work I can get done on it? It's had one trip to the range and is accurate but the trigger is much too heavy and is effecting the consistency of shots.
I thought if I take it in to be adjusted then maybe I should get the barrel floated as well. And any advice on bedding is appreciated too. It's a .223 by the way......and gorgeous to look at.:D

Thanks guys.

Check out this site:

Very detailed instructions on adjusting the factory Remington trigger. It's pretty simple if you follow the instructions carefully. If you are inexperienced with this type of thing, I would suggest reading through the whole article while looking at your rifle's trigger to make sure you understand before you break the seals. I have done it with both of my 700's and it has worked great - both are set at a crisp 3#.

Good luck,
Erud

Thanks Erud. That looks like a good bit of info. I've read it a few times and I don't think my gunsmithing skills are adequate enough to do the job though, so I think I'll go to the gunshop.
Then buy a better scope too!! I'm still researching that task.

Please don't take this wrong, but I have adjusted several dozen Remington triggers. No gunsmithing skills are required for adjusting a Remington trigger. If you can read and follow instructions and are competent to turn three screws, then you'll do just fine. :) Until we became such a litigious society, Remington included trigger adjustment instructions in their 700 manuals.
