So I put 5 rounds in my new CDL 270 and had a great season with it. I then discovered its only supposed to hold 4. Thought the bolt felt kinda sticky when I slid the thing forward over 5 rounds. ? is ifit works is it ok to do so? I am betting thats a big no.

I'll jump in here and say NO. Jamming the cartridges into the magazine meant to hold 5 is okay, IF one of them then goes into the chamber. Again, just my opinion here, go with whats required!

recovering bow junky so my ignorance on rifles is strong. so put 5 in and chamber one! Dont put 5 in the magazine and close the bolt. kinda like 15 and 1 with my XD? Sorry for the silly question just have no problems asking vs breaking something.

5 total is how it's designed to work, 4 in the box and one in the chamber, so if you're cramming 5 rounds down past the feed lips of the internal mag, you might jam things up a bit. If it fits and cycles fine don't worry about having the extra round in there though.

well yea it feeds fine and seems ok except the bolt rubs against the 5th round pretty good. I usually tote an encore so having more than one shot readily available is just fine. Just really loving this new CDL and trying to learn it inside and out.
