What is the difference in the 700 XCR stainless steel and SPS stainless steel rifles. The only discernable difference that I can see is that the XCR rifles are about $200-300 more than the SPS rifles. What are the differences in the two rifles and are the differences worth the price?

The difference is in the finish. The SPS is stainless steel, and the XCR has a TriNyte finish which is more corrosion resistant.

The SPS also has a rough finish, much like the Remington Express shotguns, while the others have a smooth finish.

I would pay the difference, but it depends on your pocketbook and what you place importance on with your rifles.
