Hello everyone, Im new to centerfire rifles and tomorrow i will be buying a remington 700. I was wondering what is better the ADL or the SPS. Both are the same price and both are in 243. The ADL comes with irons and i like that but the SPS has a better stock. which would you buy and why. What are the groups like on both of them. Thanks alot

I would be using a scope so I would not have any use for the open sights so I would pick the SPS. But you say you like having them so the ADL might be the way to go for you.

Another difference is the SPS has the floor plate for the magazine where the ADL has the blind magazine , no floor plate.

I would have to vote for the sps. I went thru the same debate earlier this year and I looked long and hard at the two. I ended up with the sps due to the stock and the weight difference. I do not want open sights on mine since I am going to scope it when I have the money later. I bought it this early to save on the price increases.

That being said, where I live in the deep south the humidity can cause the wood stock to swell in the woods and I did not want that.
But if you want the iron sights get the ADL. You will be happy with it.
On a side note, with the synth stock and matte barrel and scope this rifle looks like "one bad black rifle of death for the local deer".
Hope this helps.
