What is the differances in these two rifles, both are synthetic. I found a good deal on the 700 ADL ($470), and was womdering if it worth the extra $100 for the SPS. Plus the ADL comes with a cheap scope (remington logo on it), rings and bases. Seems like a good deal. I am sure the scope is junk, but I have better sitting on the shelf looking for a home.

Basically the same rifle. The SPS is newer with a redesigned stock with a floorplate. The ADL has a blind magazine. Between the 2 I would buy the ADL.

Correct on the floorplate.
The SPS will also have Remington's newer trigger that is nicer and user adjustable.
For some, it might be worth the extra $ for that...

not a whole lot of difference. as noted, the magazine is about it.

given a choice i would go w/ the adl as well... moreso if i could get it in a wood stock.

So does the adl have have a better syn. stock then the sps? I am a little confused, as far as I can tell the stock is the major differance, but why the adl over the sps.

Both are about the same. If it is worth $100 to you to have the floorplate go SPS. I would save the $100 and put it toward a better stock, a scope or ammo. Personal preference really.

for a truly hardcore hunting rifle, i think the blind magazine is a superior system; when i am 5 - 7 miles from the truck which is 45 miles from the nearest town, i need bomb-proof hunting gear to avoid long miserable walks out. this is purely personal preference, and may have zero to do w/ your hunting style or probable uses for the gun.

there is anecdotal evidence that blind mag rifles are more accurate than rifles w/ a gaping hole in the stock. i doubt it amounts to any difference enough to get excited about in a hunting rifle, especially one that has not been bedded.
