What the news does not tell you is usually more then what they do tell you.

I really hate to say it but they are so agenda driven....how some people can't see it is past me.

Any word if Remington is going to sue them for slander?

If Remington is in any way culpable of either continuing to sell rifles they have reason to believe has a safety defect and/or not fixing the defect in all of them, suing someone for "slander" will be the very least of their concerns. Surviving as a manufacturing entity and/or not going to jail will be their biggest worry.
I truly hope and pray their hands are clean.

It was on 60 Minutes a week or so ago. I saw the preview and said to myself....oh not again. They beat down Remington years ago about the 700 triggers. Not sure what was different in this recent story other than perhaps they still don't know how to make a 99.99999% reliable trigger.

I am not sure that is it.

There is a fine line, make a "good" trigger (how ever you want to define that) but still make it to where it will not go off if dropped or something.

In my short time with large companies there are times when you fight and times not to fight. You have to remember it is all about money first, and if you are lucky company image about 5th. These people know the typical american has about a week attn span....one reason it is called drive by media is it will drive by lob some _____ out the window the move on to the next thing....if it looks like it is really sticking they will make the block and drive by again.

There are cases where it is better for the company to settle then to fight it....even if the company is in the right. Does not make it fair, but it is the way the world works.

I have owned a Remington 700 BDL left hand bolt since the mid 1970s and it has never fired except when I have squeezed the trigger. Granted I never adjusted the trigger pull from the factory settings.
