Remington 710 Peep sights

Remington 710 Peep sights???

heres the deal. I have a remington 710 that I've had for about a year now and it shoots fairly acurate. One thing I would like to do is remove the bushnell scope on it and replace it with peep sights like on the ar type rifles or the garand. Ive read alot on here saying those scopes aren't very good anyways and I prefer iron sights. Any help on where i could get peep sights for this rifle or any advice on how to do this or if it can be done would be appreciated. thanks

You'll need a front sight. Since the 710 is not designed to even accept iron sights, you won't find any make specifically for it. However, this is somewhat liberating because you are now free to try different configurations. Check Brownells or Midway for sights. Installing the rear sight will be easy as long as you have a sight that matches the screws in the sight base. Installing a front sight will be more difficult because you'll be drilling and tapping, but it can be done.
