My local gander mt has a 750 carbine in 30.06...they are asking 699 for it used with a scope mount and a Remington super cell recoil pad...Seems a bit steep but I dont' know....Gun looks really clean and doesn't have a mark on it....I am looking for a auto loader for hunting....My father has a 7400 and I like that....what are you opinions....

Daughter loves her 750 in .308. Has a Nikon 3-9 scope. At the 100yd range, I can keep all shots within 1-1/2 inch shooting with a front bag using FC 150 gr SP.

i would pass for that price. while there are a few "improvements" over the 7400 i would find a good used 7400 for half the price.

You can buy it brand new for ~550 in any big box sport goods store and sometimes they throw a cheap (Simmons or Tasco) 3-9X 40 scope on it for free.

Yes definitely is a very steep price, I would pass.

I got a used 7400 synthetic in 30-06 for $350 shipped just a little while back. Threw a Weaver scope on it, bore sighted, and shot 1 1/4in groups at 100yds. No problems with it at all. It needs a little inside cleaning, but heck, I don't think the 750 can beat that.

Price is definitely too steep. I would pass.

Any big box store sells them for ~$550...about $80 more for the wood stock version.

742 and 7400 (the previous versions) in excellent conditions are all over the place in my area (Western WA) for low to mid $300

Please let me know a store in Western WA that is selling them for $550.

The best I have found is closer to $650 for the synthetic. Cabelas had the wood stockers for sale at $699, a few weeks ago.

I think the most recent I saw was at Wholesale Sports for $579 (Synthetic)

Cabelas once in a while run the Synthetic at $550.

The old GI Joe's (now partly absorbed by Sports Authority) had sales up to one year ago, for $550.

DJ in Bothell has an entire rack of 742 and 7400 used for about $300-350

KTP used guns listing has 9 used 7400's or 4's in 30-06 for prices ranging from $350 to $725 (w/ Leupold scope). I've done a number of gun buys & sales through them. They are extremely reliable.

Funny, I'm in Everett WA now, and I'll be at KTP in two weeks. Go figure.
