I know everyone likes the Remington 870 in 12 gauge. Is the 20 gauge version just as good? I am thinking of one for upland game (dove, quail, ect..)

I don;t have one, but a friend has a 20 GA 870 he uses for turkey. Wow. I was fondling it the other night and it felt sweet. He loves it.

I have a 870 Special Field in 20 ga. It is a great gun for upland game (Grouse, Woodcock, even Pheasants). 21" barrel, 3" chamber, and 100% a joy to shoot. It is circa 1980's- the old remington quality.

grew up knocking down quail with a 20 guage Wingmaster. There are plenty of quail that would agree, if they could, its a good gun for hunting.

Got 2, an older 20 on the 12 ga frame (before they came out with a true 20 frame) and bought my son a 20 express for Xmas last year. Both are good guns, no problems. I have a soft spot for old older 870's. Nothin' wrong with an express, thier good at what they do I just prefer the older Wingmasters.

I own a 870 Express (CHEAPIE) 20 gauge youth , the little gun is very fast to mount, the light weight makes it a breeze to tote,it is dead reliable, and ugly as sin.

Youse guys with the Special Feilds make me envious!

20ga express is a fine gun, they cut price by not polishing the metal parts. I prefer the 20ga over the 12ga lately, just for less recoil and less noise

Double what dagger dog said. I'm 6' 2", but the youth model fits well when wearing a few layers of clothing. The Cyl barrel with iron sights and Rem sluggers is pretty accurate too.
