I have a new Remington 887. If I shoot high brass shells like buckshot the stick in the chamber badly, you can not work the action by hand, you have to hold the forend and hit the recoil pad against a tree to eject spent shell. Note, I understand this is not a safe practice but i take all safety measures that i can. This is happening with 2 and 3/4 inch shells. I can cycle the weapon with no problems any length shell, this problem only happens after firing high brass shells. Please help and thank you in advance.

Detail strip and inspect all the parts. If nothing is jumping out at you as broke, give the shotgun a thorough cleaning and lube, make extra sure it is reassembled correctly. Then re-try, if you still have the issue...back to Remington it goes.

Does it do it with 3" or 3 1/2" shells? You said you can cycle any length shell but have you fired the other lengths to see if you have the same problem? Take the barrel off and look down the chamber end and see if there are any bad machining marks in there or some thick fouling gunk.

Your finger is more sensitive than your eyes when trying to detect any burrs or similar. It might be something as simple as using a dowel with some oil on 0000 steel wool with the dowel chucked in a cordless drill to smooth things out

+1

Polish the chamber with something, be it 0000 steel wool in a cordless drill, a dowel rod with a flap of black paper in a drill, etc.

And then get back to us.

Remlican seem to have forgot how to finish ream & polish chambers anymore.
Seems to be almost a lost art for them to make them to work with todays steel head shells in fact.
