Can anyone point me toward where I can find the value of a Remington 40-X from the custom shop in the late 60's? I don't have access to any Blue Books at this time.

Couldn't tell you...maybe call Remingtons Custom Shop, strike up a conversation with one of the guys, they all are very good guys, and see if they can help.
While your there, have them run the serial number and give you the low down on your particular rifle. They may be able to tell you who made it and will have information on the year of manufacture.
