Does anyone own a Model 7? If so, a few quesitons:

1. Is it a piece of junk like the 710, i.e. doomed to fail?
2. Is it accurate out of the box to 1 MOA or 1 1/2 MOA?
3. How does the action feel? Is it the same as the 700?

Nothing can be like the 710, so put your mind at ease. The Model 7 is very similar to the 700 and will most probably be around a long time. Feels the same as a 700.

Yes. A Model 7 in .308.

No, not a piece of junk; nothing like the 710. It is a fine firearm.

2. Is it accurate out of the box to 1 MOA or 1 1/2 MOA?

Mine is "hunting accurate." Haven't been able to get sub-MOA with factory ammo, but it goes under 2MOA with just about everything I've tried. 1 1/2 would be typical. It has a sporter barrel, which probably has something to do with it.

3. How does the action feel? Is it the same as the 700?

Very similar to the 700, but not exactly the same. It is a short action, and very solid.
