Does anyone have or know where to get an original (or close to it) buttplate for an early 50's vintage 721? Who knew parts for a 60 year old gun would be hard to find??

Thanks

A search turned up one at Numrich's, a new style. There are several other outfits
that part out guns if you wish to search diligently. Or you can go with a recoil pad.
Or go with a synthetic stock ( Use one for a 700 BDL if you do. You will have to make some modifications to the synthetic stocks.) Best

Many thanks dfariswheel. I was hoping this wouldn't be too painful. Now I just have to figure out what their definition of "new style" is.

The "original" 721 and 722 buttplates were metal and slightly curved. Meaning they would require some expert fitting to a straight cut butt in order to look original. Look for whole stock with buttplate attached, maybe easier to find.

Ive got one. Put a new stock on 30-06 for my Pops, he's getting a little older and doesnt care for the kick so much these days! Might do a muzzle break later on.
