Do you really want the whole Special Field shotgun ? Could you be just as satisfied to change out the the stock assembly with an 'English style' straight grip? I suggest you try it instead. I do not know about the Browning, but the magazine tube and fore end are both shorter on the Special Field models ( 870 and 1100). The result is you lose the option of changing barrels with other 870 and 1100 barrels. If you decide to go deer hunting you cannot install a deer barrel. You are stuck with the same barrel that came with the gun.
On the other hand you can buy the Remington M1187 "Upland" and get the same stock you want but also retain barrel interchangeability. They made this shotgun recently, but I do not know if it is still in production.
