Well hot DAY-UM !!! I just gots to have me one of those!

Hmm, I wonder when we can expect them to hit the market?

I saw them at the shot show in prototype form. Looking at it, they still have lots of work to do. It looks like any gunsmith could have pieced it together. I want to see them make the guns easier to take apart, then I'd be interested.

Here's the photo I took while there:

Let's see one that takes FAL mags!

Takes AR-15 magazines

So does an AR-15 :) .

I don't understand the draw - it's heavier than an M4-type AR, it is not as accurate, it is not semi-auto, and it doesn't have the range of add-ons (rails, optics, lights, etc.) that the AR platform does.

So why would I want one of these instead of an AR-type carbine?

Its kind of a oddity though. I have no problem with odditys, it is what makes collecting different firearms fun and seeing a major firearms manufacture something like that brings me hope for the industry, it shows innovation. I may even be interested in aquiring one, even though they seem to think they are going to market those to LEO agenices. IMHO a LEO would be far better off with a AR or Mini than a pump rifle.

Here's the text from the page describing it -

Imagine a short Remington 870 20-gauge pump that spits .223 loads and you’ve got the Remington 7615P Patrol Rifle. The manual of arms is the same as the 870, and the magazine well and magazine release mimic the AR-15. What could be simpler? It comes with a Wilson Combat Ghost Ring, a tough synthetic stock and weighs just 7 pounds. There was only one prototype available at SHOT Show, but I recommend watching this one. It’s got legs.

Same thing I said on Arf.

Make it :

308
Use FAL Magazines
16 Barrel w/flash hider
Tritium Ghost Ring Sights
Picatinny rail for forward mouting of an Aimpoint or IER Scout Scope

Pumps are more reliable than semis.

I have an AR. I have a Remington 760.

I can tell you the 760 is more reliable period.

If I was to take a rifle on patrol, I'd take something like this over an AR anyday.

JMHO.:)
