I feel bad for this little gun. It was given to me over 3 years ago by someone who was downsizing his project gun collection. Stock is in good shape. Few dings and dents here and there. I at first thought the metal was beyond repair but a little elbow grease and Hoppes revealed good metal under a coat of varnish from when someone refinished the wood.

It doesn't have a front or rear sight, drilled and tapped with a little Weaver Scope mounted on it. As far as I can tell the only things missing that make it functional are the Magazine and the bolt. Which brings me to my questions

1) Parts going to be hard to find? I've done some basic searching around and haven't had much luck

2) Anyone have one of these rifles and can tell me how they like it?

3) If I do manage to finally find a bolt for this, what should I do before firing? I'll admit in all my years of surplus shooting I never quite "got" the whole headspace thing

Thanks in advance guys, and TGIF

go over to rimfirecentral.com and ask, they got tons of parts from dudes over
there, or they will know where to get them.

Appreciated guys, just ordered the magazine from Midway (and a few other things, I swear I can't ever just buy one thing from them) and will search the other links for the bolt

Thanks Again

As above, the sources listed should be able to score you another bolt (pun intended). You will really enjoying shooting the 511. I used to have a 510 Targetmaster and will one day inherit a 512 Sportsmaster.

HuntandFish,

A bolt from a 510, 511, 512, 513, 521, and a nylon model 10 will all work in your rifle. as you can see from the link to the auction for the 513 bolt, people are really proud of those things. Many times you can buy an entire rifle with the bolt for less than some people expect to get for just the bolt.

Good luck, don't give up though, I have 2 model 511's that are both accurate and funto shoot, replacement mags can be found a Brownell's web site.

511 won't stay cocked

I inherited an old 511 from my dad's estate that my brother had used for quite a while when we were kids. It got into the habit of firing of it's own accord and since my brother wasn't the most attentive it was retired.

Now that it is in my posession I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this problem. It appears to me as if it is loose from worn pins or cams which causes it to fire on its own. Any input would be appreciated.

is there a scope that fits this rifle or do i have to drill and tap . and what kind of scope do you recamend for the 511 scoremaster . lol for varmet killing 75 to 100 yards
thanks
Jr.

510 won't stay cocked

I have a 510 that uncocks when the bolt closes. I do not know if it would misfire (afraid to try it). Any ideas?
