Remmy Sendero value? Beginner Long Range?

What would a Rem. Sendero (think it's an earlier one, no J lock) in 7mm Rem Mag with an older Redfield 6-18x scope be worth??

Rifle in above average condition, scope has a few rash marks but optics are clear.

Would this make a good beginner long range rig?

I am considering one of the new Savage F or F/t rifles (the one in 6.5x284), but can get the Rem. for considerably less.

solid rifle - no flies on it. you won't go wrong w/ the remington sendero.
