im looking at one of these mostly for 100 yard bench shooting at paper. i already have a .308 winchester 70 but i just want a tactical tack driver in this rig. i was all set to go with the .308 untill i looked at the .308 prices just now on the toilet and it made me think that maybee i should go with the .223, i dont reload. any reccomendations/suggestions?

97guns,

You say you want "a tactical tack driver", but you don't reload. While I can't fault your choice of rifle for that purpose, I think that I should tell you that to get the most accuracy that your rifle is capable of, you will need to reload and do a bit of load development work. Personally, when I think of a tactical rifle, I think of a rifle able to deliver accurate and lethal fire out to 1,000 yards. For all intent and purposes, this eliminates the .223 from consideration. Hope this helps.

Reloading is not really difficult. Heck you can buy everything you need at Wal-mart......
Beside what else are you going to do after the sun goes down ? sleep?
