Removing M-1 Carbine Aperture

I picked up my Universal today.
It needs a rear peep sight aperture, but I don't know how to remove the aperture from my new sight that I bought from Numrich.

The Universal sight's aperture is missing, so I know this can somehow be done.

Any hints, guys??

The Windage adjustment screw is staked/riveted on the end on a GI sight and cannot be removed without damaging it.

Best to replace the whole sight on the Universal. Some of the later ones were pretty crappy even when new.
