Removing unfired primers?

I have tapped out live primers with a Lee decapper, a small brass hammer, and a base I made. I never set one off until I had a really hard one. I gave it a great big whack (And I mean big), and that one went off. I knocked the snot out of it though.

Just use your sizer or a universal decapper and all will be well.

True statement.

If this bothers you, you can substantially reduce the chance of setting the primer off by soaking the case in water,

The primers will be fouled, and nothing is ever 100%- but its a considerable safety margin if popping them out like we all do bothers you.

This^^^^! Then put them on the window sill for a week to dry out and use them over.
