I'm sure a few of you have done this as well. A couple years ago I traded off a pistol, and I have been regreting it ever since.
The pistol in question was an older Tanfoglio from before EAA imported them. It was imported by Excam and was called the Tanfoglio TA-90 series 88. It was nicely blued and was just like the current Witnesses save for the safety on the slide and the shape of the hammer. I never could get used to the backwards safety on the slide (up to fire & down to safe), and I eventually traded it even though it was an awesome pistol in all reguards.

A couple weeks ago I was cruising a few of my favorite gun shops when I came across a similar Tanfoglio. This one was imported by F.I.E. and was also before EAA was in the picture. The difference besides it being chromed, was the F.I.E imported Tanfoglio series 88 had the correct safety on the frame, and allows for cocked and locked carry! It was in great shape and had nice slim wood grips, not to mention a fantastic SA trigger pull.
I quickly put 20% down to secure the pistol, and it took a couple weeks but it is now in my posssion.:D:D

I believe this worked out for the best, being that I like the safety and the hard chrome finish more on this pistol than the original one I had. I took it out and ran some rounds just to check function. Fed all rounds awesome, even my +p Gold Dots. It is sweet to shoot and plenty accurate, I also think she is a looker! Love this peice!

Nice gun!

I used my 10/22 as down payment on a truck a few years back, it jammed semi-often but I assumed that was a Ruger thing. It was my plinker and I missed shooting cheap ammo. Year and half later replaced it. My new one has never jammed on me and doesnt have the scratch on it (from field-stripping with improper tools).

I have 2, one just like yours, except their a couple years newer and are "Mossad" guns that came over from an Israeli shooting club, and the fullsized one has lightly checkered grips. The other one is a "compact" with the same smooth type grips you have. The compact has the smoothest slide operation of any gun I own, it feels like it has ball bearings in it, and there is barely any movement at all. Both shoot, and fit my hand, great.

Amazing how the older Tanfoglios look like a CZ. I bought a new Witness 45 last summer and quickly realized it wasn't just a CZ in 45, which is what I was after. Now I'm looking at the 97b, despite the larger frame size.

Thank you guys for the comments. I am heading out now to run a bunch more rounds through this one.
Part of the sweetness was the fact I picked this Tanfoglio up for only $320!

Excelent guns. I replaced my Excam TA90 that was stolen with a Witness. I finally replaced the Taurus model 66 that was stolen with it with a S&W model 66 about a year ago. Didn't have a .357 for about 20 yrs. Decided the M66 needed a needed a snub to go with it and picked up a no lock Model 60. Having a gun stolen from you is worse than regretting selling one. Enjoy your range time, and be safe.

It ran all 100 rounds of Remington 115gr fmj perfect today! It also exhibited great accuracy for rapid fire as well as slow, it is easy to shoot well. I would guess the SA trigger pull is around 4.5-5 pounds and is oh so sweet. Continually impressed with this one!
