Hi All
Just picked up a yugo sks and the top handguard is split on one side. I also picked up a fiber stock with a replacement handguard and am trying to figure out how to replace it without cutting the metal brackets that are holding the wood one inplace. Any of you guy's faced this problem before?

Thanks for your time!!

Assuming that you already have the gas tube assembly removed from the rifle, look all the way to the rear of the gas tube/handguard at the little part that slides into the rear sight housing, you'll see a pin. Drive that out and that little piece on the back should come off, once that is off the hanguard should slide out.

If you are not picky, and you can't get the pin out (I could'nt) chop the wood out, bend the metal brackets out of the way (the bracket on the rear should pivot around that pin at this point), slide the new peice in, and bend the metal back.

Yes this not not the best method, but it worked for me.

Good Luck!
