These have by far been the most recommended powders but I cant find any of either.

Im looking to load for Hornady 129gr SSTs and 140gr Amax.

The case and primers are from those old wood bullet loads from samco.com... hope they work, I ordered 1600 of them.

Maybe try IMR-7828. I'm a huge fan of both RL19 and RL22, and 7828 will often perform very similar to one or the other, application depending of course.

According to what I've read, Alliant's Powder Pro 4000-MR powder is extremely close to RL-22 in performance. I think Norma MRP is too.

For 140 grain bullets, VihtaVouri N160 per Don and also VihtaVouri N165. Powder Pro 4000 MR which Cabela's shows in stock. IMR 4350 as was mentioned. Really comes down to as steve4102 mentions, what do you have and what can you get?

IMR-4350 has been my go to powder when I had my Swede. A 120gr Speed HotCor will make a whitetail wilt. IMR-4381 will work also. Some of my books show 7828, but in my opinion it is too slow.

IMR
IMR 4350
IMR 4831
IMR 7828

Hodgdon
H4350
H4831

Ramshot
Ramshot Hunter
Ramshot Magnum

I've personally used all of them in the swede, excluding IMR 4831...

Lot's of good powders for the 6.5x55
