So I need to replace my gas block with a low profile one to install my handguard. The price is the same for both brands. I am torn because Aero is more experienced at AR manufacturing but Wilson has a solid record on the parts market. By the way this is my defensive rifle so reliably is peri mount. Also is it worth paying extra for an adjustable gas block or 4140 (Wilson) vs 4150 (Aero) steel. Thanks for the replys

I prefer JP Enterprise gas blocks. I've used many different ones and the JP has never leaked gas. The main difference is how the adj handles the gas seal. If you have a loose fitting thread expect leaks, no way around it. Some of the ones with detent adjustment screw leak, some don't. I also prefer the clamp type vs 2 screws to barrel.

I run adj gas blocks on all my AR's . It allows me to tune the gun for the load it will be shooting without over gassing it. Heavy buffers and bolt can also be used to slow the bolt down.

I also vote adjustable gas block because most AR barrels are overgassed and an adjustable gas block can knock down a little bit of recoil. I know there isn't much in an AR, but you can be surprised at the difference. I use an adjustable gas block on all of my ARs minus 1.

I absolutely LOVE the gas blocks from SLR Rifleworks. It is a great product, a great company run by a great guy. I have no connection to them other than buying their products and loving them.

It depends on how much you want to/are willing to spend on the part. You're debating between companies selling the part for $30 while I'm recommending a $120 part...4x what you're looking at.

I think between the blocks you're looking at, it's 6 one way, half a dozen the other. There likely won't be a performance difference between them, so look at warranty for the tie-breaker. If they both are great in that department, which ships faster?
