I have a Taurus PT92B (made 2001) that was made before the tactical rails were introduced. My question is (and I know it may be stupid but I've seen some mighty smart idea's on this forum over time!) can the rear "fixed mount" be removed and a scope mount or some other mount be put in its place so that I can mount a red dot scope on it? The "Fixed site" in rear is removable as its attached in a dove-tail groove.

Or...do you guys know of any other sights that will fit the dovetail in the rear? I'm not particularly interested in an adjustible metal sights unless this is the only option. My eye's aren't what they used to be when I was 20. :what: :)

See if J-Point or Burris "Fast-fire" red dots have mounts for your pistol. These replace the read dovetail sight and you screw the red dot into the mount.

I really like this setup, here is an old photo of the J-point on my RIA:

Thanks Wally. Your sight mount looks like it would fit mine. I'll check it out. Any other idea's out there? Maybe if I included a picture that would help.
