Out of curiosity I tallied up all the most accurate revolvers from this thread:

I know it's not scientific but it is interesting.

Smith and Wesson was the clear leader with 32 guns reported as most accurate. With the 686 and 629 leading all others.

Colt came in second with the Python (I need to get one of these)

Ruger came in third with a variety of Single actions

Dan Wesson with 4 hits

Freedom Arms with 2

Taurus 1

Not counting Taurus I bet sales for each company statistically match our poll.

Except for the fact that Colt is out of the business, I'd guess you're right.
