Hahahaha......Haven't been on THR in years. Thought I'd look in on any old threads I started back in the day... http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=251826
To everyone that replied I have to agree the Sks "sniper" didn't turn out to be what it was originally intended to be. It never shot any better at 200 yrds than the 6 to 8 inch group I attained at first. At 100 yrds it was no better. And in fact as time wore on it got worse. Finally at 50 yrds it was a 8 to 10 inch group.
I sold everything off without losing much money and bought one of these...
A Norinco M-14 copy. I did put a proper side mount scope mount on it with a Bushnell elite scope. And.........after NOT attaining any accuracy with this rifle, I sold it for exactly what I paid for it.
So....realizing that great accuracy cannot be attained by buying "copy" rifles... I bought a bolt action rifle in .20 cal.
A Ruger M77 MkII in .204 with a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40.
Its zeroed for 200 yrds and will group will my crappy eyes at 1 inch at 200 yrds. I have popped prairie gophers with this gun out to 300 yrds using a 32gr Vmax Hornady bullet.
I've learned my lesson.
