.22 LR revolvers are nice, sure.

But one cannot have too many .357s. Go with the 686.

Buy the 617 and a few bricks of 550 round Federal .22 ammo at Wally World.

The money you'll save (shooting .22 rounds vs. shooting the 686 just as much) will PAY for the 686 in no time!

Plus, you're best off, technique-wise, mastering the soft kicking .22 revolver first. Get it and run a couple of thousand totally fun rounds through it and you'll be WAY ahead in the long run!
