Revolver Dilemma

I had 37-2 DAO which is about the best five-shot compact revolver out there w/o ugly hump. I could not get used to little Uncle Mikes grip on that gun. Instead of buying larger replacement fabric snagging Hoge Boot-grip I did something right buy switching to Model 12-2. Much more shootable revolver with six-shot capacity.

Smith 642 is what I vote for but will add that this a light revolver that is for carry only, the 640 stainless version is a much better choice if you are planning on doing a lot of shooting.

I have both guns I had the 442 be for Ruger came out with the LCR. I like the looks of the 442 best. The 442 also fits the smaller pockets better because of the more compact grip. 38 +P is a little hot for practice but, not punishing. This was my all day every day back up gun. Then came the LCR357. 357 Snubs are my favorite carry gun. The Tamer Grip makes shooting 357 Mag painless. It is a little wild until you get use to it but, I have 600 rounds of 357 through it now and I like shooting it. Its a great backup to my SP101. When I want to go light weight, like today, I carry the LCR357 IWB and the 442 in my pocket. The same speed loader fits both guns for reloads. I load them with 38+P. I guess I never will decide which one I like better so, I'll just have to carry both of them.

the LCR is an ugly little bugger, but has a fantastic trigger that no j-frame can ever match. you could have the world's greatest revolversmith work on that 642 until he keels over, and he'd never get the 642 trigger half as good as the LCR trigger.

otherwise, yeah, the 642 is nice.
