Revolver Factory Re-Bluing Question

The store says these scratches came from the factory, but I doubt that. I
It's possible that the scratches actually did come from the factory. Do you happen to know how long the dealer had the gun?
The reason I ask is that a couple of years ago one of the local dealers had two brand new Model 25 classics with similar flaws. One had damage along the barrel on one side but closer to the bottom than yours and the other had some marks on the cylinder and a damaged side plate screw. I wouldn't make a connection necessarily but for the fact that that's 3 guns, all the same model, with very similar damage.

No, not for sure. The guys I spoke to said they had that gun “for months” but gave no further detail.

I've only had a couple of guns reblued and they were all basket cases. I had them professionally cleaned and blued - and one nickeled - to stop the rust and preserve the metal. But I like ugly guns - they have "character" - so as long as there's no active rust, I leave them be, polish, oil, and keep clean and dry.

I'd never even think about having old Big Ugly refinished. This old fella's been through too much to be made purty. ;)
