Revolver Reload with Flashlight?

I was wondering how a person would reload a revolver with a speed loader with a flashlight in hand?

This is a self-defense at night question.

I am right handed, so I start with flashlight in my left, and gun in my right. I grab the swung-out cylinder with my left hand and proceed with the rest of the reload like normal. The cylinder and flashlight are in my left hand at the same time. I have a smaller flashlight, so they both fit in my hand.

The only concern I have is that sometimes the speed loader would get hung up on the flashlight, but not very often. I didn't try a speed strip, but I imagine it would be similar.

Does anyone else have a better technique?

I've run revolvers in various low-light stages in competition. Usually I dump the flashlight in a pocket for the reload. It's not like you really want to stand there reloading with the light on anyway.

Flash, MOVE, Flash --SHOOT--, MOVE, Flash, Move, Flash -- SHOOT,MOVE, etc.

Now you understand why light manufacturers also offer landyards.

You can either loop them on your wrist or more commonly around your thumb. This is of course referring to the small hand lights...it doesn't work with the larger lights (too much inertia)

I've shoved lights into my waistband or a duty belt holder. If we were trading shots and I needed a speed reload, I'd just let the light drop out of my hand...in a fire fight, you're not using your light to locate your target

Put the light in a pocket, belt holder or waistband. The wrist lanyard is a good idea if it is a small light. Another thing you could do with a larger light, is to stick it in your armpit while reloading.
And whatever method you use, turn the light off first.
